Step 1 - Consultation

Find out if Invisalign is right for your smile and how long you can expect it to take.

Step 2 - Scans & Exams

We’ll digitally scan your teeth and jaws to create strong, comfortable fitted aligners.

Step 3 - Aligner Fitting

You’ll try on your aligners to make sure they fit correctly — snug, but still easily removable.

Step 4 - Smile Correction

As your treatment progresses, you’ll come in for check-ups and to get new sets of aligners.

Step 5 - Retainers

Once your teeth are in their final positions, you’ll receive a retainer to keep them in place.

How long will the treatment take?

It depends on the amount of tooth movement that you need, but most people take somewhere between a year and two years to finish their treatment.

If you’re touching up past orthodontic work or fixing one small area, it can be as quick as 6 months. On the other hand, especially complex, full-mouth corrections can take 2 years or more.

Does Invisalign work in all cases?

Invisalign works on more cases than ever before, but it still can’t handle every case - at least not from start to finish.

That’s why we offer hybrid treatment plans which use both braces and Invisalign. You might wear braces for, say, 9 months to address especially challenging areas, then switch to Invisalign for the rest of your treatment.

Does Invisalign work for older adults and seniors?

Yes, Invisalign for seniors and older adults can be effective at improving oral health and smile aesthetics, although it can take a little bit longer compared to children or teenagers since their teeth and jaw bones are less mature.

If you’re interested in Invisalign as a senior, Dr. Ashnaei can help you understand how long the treatment will take and what kinds of results you can expect.

Can I eat and drink normally with Invisalign?

For the most part, yes, you’ll be able to eat and drink normally with Invisalign since the aligner trays are fully removable.

That said, you’ll have to be careful about rinsing your mouth before putting your aligners back in so that food or drink residue isn’t trapped next to your teeth for hours at a time.
